workshop

what is a workshop according to us?

A workshop is a closed, immersive, silent space that fosters experimentation. It is a place where everyone can acquire knowledge, manipulate materials and tools, and discover their origins. A workshop is also a place for exchange, learning, listening, discovery, and play. Moreover, it is a place where cultural, disciplinary, and human encounters are woven together after one’s time there.

The workshops are contextualised within the framework of Maison Saint Joseph. Each participant is invited to use the place as an element of a recorded story, tell through its spaces and objects with tools from different disciplines, and to weave them into a personal narrative.

The goal is to create, in the end, a presentation crafted by the participants from all the workshops, revealing a common story.

A variety of specialists, ranging from creators, dancers, and experts in advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to architects, artisans like cabinetmakers and potters, as well as filmmakers and musicians, will participate in the workshop. They will share their tools and expertise to explore and develop a personal narrative.

In essence, the workshop program offers an opportunity to explore the intersections between disciplines and to examine how we can use various tools in our practice.
