éléonore d'hauterives
mixed media artist, art curator and architect — FRANCE / UK
Through ink drawings and digital fabrication, Éléonore d’Hauterives explores how memories inhabit both physical and virtual spaces. Her work begins with spontaneous ink studies on reused paper, investigating the tension between familiar and unknown landscapes. These drawings evolve into immersive environments using projection mapping and motion sensors, reflecting how memories exist in both tangible and digital forms. The choice of ink on repurposed materials speaks to the fragility and persistence of memory, while digital tools allow these personal marks to become collective experiences. Her process draws inspiration from Renaissance memory theaters, where architecture served as a vessel for preserving shared histories. By layering traditional craftsmanship with computational design, Éléonore creates spaces where visitors physically encounter the interplay between preservation and transformation, as her performances invite visitors to engage with and shape these shared narratives. The work aims to reveal how personal narratives can contribute to collective memory, the shared experiences, stories, and cultural understanding that shape communities’ identities and connect individuals across time and space, while questioning our relationship with inhabited spaces.
