writing residency, 2nd edition

With :
Naoile Ji

Date :
6th to 12th october 2025

The writing residency is open to all authors and creators who wish to advance their screenwriting projects (television, film), literary projects (novels, comic books) or music album projects in the rewriting phase, regardless of the stage they are at.

In a peaceful and inspiring setting, various spaces are available to encourage creativity and facilitate discussion and sharing of everyone’s projects: workshop, garden, library, lounge, exhibition room and kitchen. Drawing, painting, cooking, pottery, walks in the forest or in the historic centre of Crépy-en-Valois are also possible additional activities to help inspire or simply recharge your batteries.

Key moments of collective writing are organised within the programme to facilitate rewriting through reading committees. Other exercises will also be planned to allow for positive digression. Individual writing sessions are sacred and predominant in the programme, and Maison Saint Joseph offers a multitude of spaces to write in peace and serenity according to each person’s needs.

We are passionate about supporting the arts and artists, and our entire msj team has worked tirelessly to make the opening of this artist residency a reality in 2025. Our pricing reflects the actual cost of running a young artist residency that supports emerging artists, ensuring that everyone involved is compensated for their expertise. Our pricing reflects this commitment, covering artists’ fees and operational costs, thanks in part to the support of Maison Saint Joseph, which offers us favourable rates for renting space. In order to carry out each programme, we need a minimum number of participants. We are counting on your support to help us bring this ambitious project to life!
