oise in bloom: pressed flower herbarium workshop

With :
Lucie Julien Faimali

Date :
28th june, 5th and 12th july 2025

Although flowers have long had a place in the aesthetics of romance, modern writers have been able to rewrite them in literature, and have gradually understood what they mean to them. “She said she would buy the flowers herself.” What do flowers represent in a person’s life? asked Virginia Woolf in Mrs Dalloway.

Flowers: they are petals, colours, materials, compositions, the intertwining of each element creating a perfect unity… that of a composition that questions its refuge. Its identity. Its past, its being. Its desires. Its dreams.

And why not come and think for an afternoon? A herbarium is like stopping time, freezing a moment, a day, a part of who you are, for a long time. In a way, it’s a whole life condensed into a single day…

Originally from the Oise region of France, she grew up surrounded by nature, which nurtured her taste for flowers, plants, poetry and pretty things from an early age. A graphic designer by trade and passionate about everything to do with the visual arts, she enjoys exploring different forms of creation, particularly around craft. For a number of years now, she has been developing a practice based around pressed flowers and herbariums, which she is keen to pass on in convivial workshops. It’s an activity she first pursued in Paris, before returning to the Oise region with the desire to share this gentle savoir-faire once again.
